Renaming the plans for Property Data Labs

We are renaming the paid plans to make them easier to understand: Hobby becomes Basic, Starter becomes Pro, and Business becomes Team.

Changing leaves on a tree

Introduction

We are renaming the paid plans for Zillow Data Exporter and Property Data Labs.

This update is only about the names of the plans. The goal is to make it clearer who each plan is for and to remove confusion caused by the previous names.

Here is what is changing:

  • Hobby becomes Basic
  • Starter becomes Pro
  • Business becomes Team

Why we are renaming the plans

The previous names were not as clear as they should have been.

Some users were not sure which plan matched their needs, especially when comparing the plans on the pricing page or inside the app. The new names are more explicit and make it easier to understand the intended customer for each plan:

  • Basic is for users with simpler or more occasional exporting needs.
  • Pro is for users who need more advanced exporting and Cloud capabilities.
  • Team is for teams that need collaboration and shared access.

This rename is meant to improve clarity only. It does not change what the plans include.

What is not changing

The features, limits, and access for each plan remain the same.

If you are currently subscribed to one of these plans, you will still have access to the same functionality you had before. Only the displayed plan name is changing.

That means:

  • Your existing access remains the same.
  • Your current features remain the same.
  • Your billing and subscription behavior remain the same.
  • The Free plan is not affected by this rename.

Summary of the rename

To make the transition easy to follow, here is the mapping again:

  • Hobby Plan -> Basic Plan
  • Starter Plan -> Pro Plan
  • Business Plan -> Team Plan

If you previously used the old names, you can think of this as a labeling update only. Nothing else about your plan has changed.
