Introduction

If you regularly export property listings from Zillow using Zillow Data Exporter, you know how frustrating it can be to see the same unwanted properties appear in your exports over and over again.

Hidden Homes solves this problem. When you hide a property, it gets synced to your Property Data Labs account and is automatically ignored during any Cloud Job. No more manually filtering out properties you've already ruled out.

What are Hidden Homes?

Hidden Homes are Zillow properties that you have explicitly marked as unwanted. Once hidden, these properties are excluded from all future exports and Cloud Jobs linked to your Property Data Labs account.

Common use cases include:

  • Properties outside your budget that keep appearing in broad searches
  • Listings you've already evaluated and decided against
  • Properties in neighborhoods you're not interested in
  • Duplicate or spam listings that clutter your results

Rather than removing these manually from every export, Hidden Homes lets you hide them once and forget about them.

How it works

The Hidden Homes feature is built into Zillow Data Exporter. Here is the workflow:

Step 1: Hide a property

While browsing Zillow, click the hide button on any property card or listing page.

Step 2: Sync to your account

Fo to your hidden homes page and open the extension. Then click the "sync hidden homes" button. Your hidden homes are should now be synced to your Property Data Labs account.

Step 3: Automatic filtering

When you run a Cloud Job, the system checks your hidden homes list and excludes any matching properties from the export. This happens automatically — no additional configuration required.

Managing your hidden homes

You have full control over your hidden homes list. You can:

  • View all hidden homes from within the extension
  • Unhide a property to restore it to your exports
  • Delete hidden homes you no longer need to track

All changes sync instantly to your Property Data Labs account and take effect on your next Cloud Job.

Cloud Jobs integration

The integration with Cloud Jobs is seamless. Whenever a Cloud Job runs on your behalf, the system queries your hidden homes list and filters out any matching properties before the export is generated.

This means:

  • No duplicate effort — hide a property once, and it stays hidden across all exports
  • Account-wide — hidden homes apply to all Cloud Jobs, not just individual exports
  • Persistent — your hidden homes list survives browser restarts and extension updates

Conclusion

Hidden Homes saves you time by letting you permanently filter out properties you don't want to see. Instead of cleaning up your exports manually, sync your hidden homes to your Property Data Labs account and let the system handle the rest.
